When my son was in third grade, part of his history included the history of Grafton. He learned all about the clocks, all about farming, and even now he’ll look at a random street sign and spout off information about the family for which it was named.
But what really interested him was Grafton’s original inhabitants, the Praying Indians, and the community of Hassabnamesit, or “Place of the Small Stones.”
